From: "Peggy Siegal" alElla To: Subject: Fw: Belated Thank You Date: Mon, 31 Aug 2009 01:31:04 +0000 Note to Matt Lauer- might make you smile. Went to Hampton Classic Grand Prix Day today as guest of lonanthan Farkis. He asked about you fondly and sends regards. Took Pepe...Emilia had infected wound from botched vein removal in her leg and stayed on the boat..pepe ran after all the girls all day...we got photographed as a couple! xoxo p From: Peggy Siegal To: c "; Sent: Sun Aug 30 20:58:50 2009 Subject: Belated Thank You Annette/Matt Just wanted to tell you both that you threw the best party of the year. Best property...25 acres of the most beautiful hidden oasis. On the delux golf cart winding up the driveway, you knew it was going to be a special night. Best house...the outside looks like it's been there for one hundred years, and once inside you think...Oh, so chic. You try not to stare at the family portaits on the walls but can't help your self because everyone is gorgous. Best crowd....you enter the back room and the electricity is immediate. Everyone is made to feel special by the two of you and really special when you realize you are standing between The Boss and Bon Jovi. Then 6'6" Howard Stem is bending over like a giraffe and saying to the top of the Mayor's 5'6" head, "I talk about you all the time" and the Mayor is thanking him. A total New York moment. I am now thinking....do not attack every celeb before dinner, the hosts are watching you. Best dinner....the tent was devine. Of course you had heaters. The seating was perfect. I got to my table and thought, Oh my God, Howard Stem! What am I going to say to him? I have never listened to his show. Thankfully that problem never arose because Howard must have sneaked into the tent during cocktails and realized he got a weak seat and left...but I have known Angelica Huston for 25 years and she told us all about working with Michael Jackson on a film called Capt. Nemo and how sweet but totally weird he was. Donny D. and Gerry Lefcourt entertained us with political gossip. But...my most fab moment is when I planted myself at a table between Bruce and Bon Jovi. I reminded Bruce that we spent a night together till 3:00am in a restaurant in May after the Tom Hanks Lincoln Center Film Society Tribute (I worked on). We hung with Hanks, Rita, Patty, Jeremy Irons and Geoffrey Rush...he remembered I made him laugh all night....) then dove into a conversation about David Geffen/Larry Ellison's 418' boat, "Rising Sun" that Bruce just came off. You may know...other passengers were Mike Nichols, Diane Sawyer, Hanks, Nom Ephron, Sandy Gallin...(Tony Blair was on earlier) Bruce had no idea how I knew so much until I told him I am friendly with Sandy and Nora.... Bruce told me he played basketball on the third deck court, went sightseeing in little Greek towns with Hart and no not recognized him because he has only played Greece once...and he did play the guitar for the gang with Hanks, who is an accomplished muscian. He told me all the films Geffen showed....including "The Baader Meinhof Complex" (about German terrorists)....which I sent...and he did not see "It Might Get Loud", a doc about Jack White, Jimmy Page and The Edge...which I also sent. He also told me all these brilliant boat guests had very long lunches wowing each other with brilliant banter...not his exact words. I drulled with envy and told him I was in St. Tropez for two weeks and the French only played Michael Jackson music over and over. He laughed. I EFTA00769597 fainted. So this was definitely the best night of my entire summer. I can not thank you both enough for my second "close encounter" with Bruce and a chance to bask in the glory of making the cut for your outstanding off-the-charts fantastic night. xoxo Peggy EFTA00769598
