I have office full of guests and things going on but I promise to try and study this throughout the day...(boss is in town now so it's always more Tuff!) On May 2, 2013, at 11:57 AM, Gianna Santoro wrote: I have made the several revisions to your kitchen and butler's including bringing the overall finished height down, changing the wall cabinets to single panel, 4/4" thick doors and using a melamine box construction instead of plywood. In addition, to offer cost savings, I've priced your kitchen perimeter and butler's using solid painted, mdf doors and drawers that will look identical to a wood door with mdf center panel. I've left the island as walnut. MOF costs less and has its advantages in that it doesn't move the way wood does thus reducing fine line cracks in paint and doesn't warp the way wood can. I still have left all the doors and large drawers with 3" wide stiles and rails. EFTA_R1_00793987 EFTA02140302 I made a few other value engineering changes like removing the swing out corner shelves and changing a few drawer bases to regular cabinets with a shelf, but nothing that I think will really impact the storage or functionality in the kitchen. You still have plenty of drawer bases and we could always change out where you have drawers vs. regular cabinets with shelves as you see fit. While it does depend on the size of the cabinet, in general, going from a regular base cabinet with 1 drawer with doors and a shelf to a 3 drawer base cabinet costs $ 130-$150. Oh...l know you said just one shelf above the sink, but it looks s0000 much better with 2! Instead of floating shelves, I changed them to a'''/" thick shelf with a 2" front which will still look nice and helped the price a bit. As you'll see, the cabinetry, install and freight now all come to $61,546...a big difference from where we were. If you still have an $85,000 budget for everything except appliances, this leaves you with just about $23,500. Leave yourself $2500 for sinks and faucets, $1000 for hardware and the rest for counters and backsplash...just about $20,000. If you are willing to be flexible with the material choices, which I think you are, Gaelle and I can help you get a nice look and try to stay as close within your budget as possible. I took the price of the curved walnut counter off to see if our cabinet manufacturer would have a more competitive price...I will let you know. You are getting a ton of cabinetry for the price and think you will be very happy with the design. Hopefully, you and Ike will decide to move forward with myself and Deane. A 10% retainer ($61,500) will be required to continue with drawings and doing a site measure. Once drawings are complete and you are satisfied with the design, we'll move to contract to release drawings which Bob will need to coordinate the mechanicals at the house. As always, feel free to call or email me with any questions! Best, Gianna EFTA_R1_00793988 EFTA02140303
