Subject: Last minute event with 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Winner Leymah Gbowee
Dear Jeffrey,
Please join us Monday, October 17th at 9am for a conversation with 2011 Nobel Peace
Prize Winner Leymah Gbowee, along with filmmakers Gini Reticker & Pamela Hogan of
"Women, War & Peace." We will also be screening select scenes of the documentary film
"Pray the Devil Back to Hell," which features Leymah as its central character. Light
breakfast will be served.
Leymah Gbowee employed ingenious--and entirely peaceful--tactics in her women-led
movement to end civil war in Liberia. The 2011 Nobel Peace Prize winner speaks out in a
new PBS series about how she mobilized a nation of women to force dictator Charles Taylor
out, and convinced warring factions to put the guns and machetes down.Space is limited.
Please RSVP to [email protected] or at 212-486-6600.
Hope to see you on Monday morning!
