Wax could be the last coat over the finish that would close=y imitated 18 c Interior. Firstly, the oxidation ( in 18 c wood y=u have natural oxidation ) which can be easily imitated. Secondly= the newer wood. The wood in 18 c was quarter-sown wood, you need to come c=ose to this. Thirdly, natural use of the wood, the dents, slight s=ratches, discoloration - done in moderation. The present method w= were using will not imitate the aged wood the way Mr. Epstein wants. The way I see this work, is the present finish be removed, not everywh=re, because there are some good looking sections and you need to start anew=with the final effect in mind. I am capable of doing this work b=nd if the need for the work like this, would arise , I could be called to t=e project.
