here is the latest from the Guardian—why publication should be based on what i said is obscure to me

Thanks for your note. I made clear that we don't ordinarily retroactively change quotes - our reluctance to share quotes
in advance is to avoid this very situation.
That said, appreciate that your more colourful/animated remarks may have been delivered in the heat of the moment.
More broadly, I take on board what you say. We are in the process of considering whether (and if so how) we would
publish a story in light of the information you have provided.
I will let you know when that changes.
