It may be beneficial to lobby AdvaMed and its affiliates to encourage the Legislature to cease and desist from using the Medical Equipment excises tax and associated issues as a reason to risk the full faith and credit of the Nation. The AdvaMed lobby issues include the 2.3% excise tax, which is usually highlighted in the news. The same Obamacare legislation, however, includes business ethics provisions, such as Anti-Fraud, Anti-Kickback, Anti-Bribery, and "National Registry" (for gifts given to physicians) Acts that some people claim threatens the profits of AdvaMed lobby companies much more than the excise tax.
