Martin Nowak proposes to receive annually two Ph.D. graduates from the Tsinghua math department to work in his PED for a three year term each. He said this is an initial step toward further collaboration. My dialogue with Joichi Ito is in process. President QIU asked me to forward his invitation for your visit to Tsinghua campus in the fall. An ideal time is mid-October, say October 9-10, which is after the long-week National Day break in China. Beijing is in its best weather usually for this period. Please advise with your availability for the visit, and tell me any specifics that you may care. It would also be practical for you to appoint a person to communicate with the Liaison Office in my staff for the arrangement of your visit.
