I send this as a friend and police officer. Over the past few days New Canaan has had over 20 incidents of unlocked cars in driveways being burglarized of valuable items that were left in the car overnight. In several incidents windows were smashed and items taken. In one case keys were left in a car and the car was stolen. The people responsible for this seem very organized and are hitting wealthy towns such as New Canaan and Greenwich. If you can put your car in a garage do it. If you have to leave it in a driveway park as close to your house as possible, remove any valuables and leave on as many exterior lights as possible. Please pass this on to as many people as possible. If you are out after 11:00 pm or so and see anybody or anything that just doesn't look right get a license plate if possible and call the police department at 203-594-3500.
