If your account is an IRA, 401k or other non-taxable account you can delete this e-mail. Also clients who invested later in 2013 and did not own shares in HMG prior to November 1, 2013 can ignore this e-mail. For clients with taxable accounts Scottrade has updated and corrected the 2013 1099s they initially made available. The original 1099 mischaracterized the dividend from HMG/Courtland properties as an ordinary dividend(which would have been paid at ordinary income rates) vs. a capital gains distribution(which is taxed at long-term capital gain rates). This change should lower your tax bill. The corrected 1099s can be found by: 1.Logging into your account at 2. Select the "My Account" tab. 3. Choose "Account History" from the left side menu. 4. Select the "Tax Statements" tab. 5. Press view for year 2013 tax form 1099 6. Click on Form 1099- Correction 4. This will bring up the corrected 1099. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out anytime at or via e-mail. EFTA00372647 Thank you, Evan Evan Wax Founder and Portfolio Manager Wax Asset Management EFTA00372648
