Of course they take their days off when you are not there; they never do take days off when you are in town.
The house needs to be maintained, cleaned, laundry, etc. They were gone for 2 weeks on vacation, so that is why
they worked two days after returning because the house had not been cleaned for 2 weeks. The Siemens workers
were in and out of the house those 2 weeks, and the house really does need to be maintained. It is a very large
house and takes a long time to clean. It's important to keep up with it especially since you could come back at
any moment last minute; you never know.
I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding the issue here?

Lyn and I go over their schedule, days worked, days owed off, etc every week.
If they are caught up on their days owed off, and you are not in town, they will work at the house during the
week and take the weekend off, unless of course you need them to do something specifically.
