After graduating from college in Shanghai, China, Yuri returned to Japan to work in jewelry design. In 2015, she came to New York, where she met a New York-based jewelry designer Noriaki Niikura. Deeply impressed by Niikura's creative philosophy, Yuri, by applying jewelry-making techniques, began making her signature openwork tableware pieces using antique cutleries.
