He is still on a mechanical ventilator but son Abdullah was there when he opened his eyes and when Sultan was asked to confirm whether he understood the current situation be "blinked" yes. Doctors are extremely happy with his vital signs. My impression is that he will come off the mechanical ventilator by Monday if not sooner. He has a tracheostomy tube installed and of course is wearing the halo fixator which will be his best friend in the coming weeks (months?). His sons Abudullah, Ahmed and Ghanim are now in Germany keeping watch and Abdullah updates me nightly. I am now in Coronado and will be back in Hamburg on Tuesday night for the duration of his recovery EFTA00635408
