The following is a few words to sum up my thoughts and turn you towards the path of my reflections. Stair Hall Your residence being firmly pronounced by a French 18th century style, I would reckon to give the main stair case its whole architectural value by highlighting a mineral wall decor in white stucco, recessed paneling, noticeable architectural elements (such as pilasters, chambranles niches...) which will enhance and structure several walls, insisting on: Changing the fireplace by a decor with a central niche which could possibly receive a earthenware stove and stucco wall panels. Recomposing the entry line by modifying both vestibules into an oval shape. Creating a 2 steps landing to get to the stairs. Redesigning the first flight of stairs with stone steps. Walling up underneath the stair case and treating this part with white stucco the same way as the rest. Stone and cabochon flooring between the oval vestibules the latest having a peripheral frieze and a central rosace. On the second floor, I would suggest to replace the mirrors by: Painted woodwork with an end of the 18th century style. I also recommend to extend this decor into the vestibules which will be rethought and redesigned (modification of the chambranles) Another alternative would be to use stucco panels on the walls facing the stairs and to recreate woodwork decorated vestibules to introduce the different rooms. From a decorative point of view, I strongly suggest to give back the stair case its greatness using a central lantern as well as a contemporary sculpture, the latest would structure the bottom of the stairs. To conclude, my advice is to give a 18th century arrangement to the place in which you could also exposed some contemporary works of art according to your current mood and wish. Dining Room I was my understanding that the dining room is the place where you like to spend time and work most of the days, as well as receive your clients for business. This is therefore a room that shall be multipurpose and able to become more formal for receptions and dinners. I would reckon a simple masculine wood decor for that room. My best choices would be a blond oak or a light walnut. The designer might draw his inspiration from Ruhlmann interiors. It will be wise to completely redesign the dining room, insisting on the functional aspect (integration of foldaway paintings, importance of the lighting...). EFTA00652900 Give less importance to the door by rethinking the proportions with the vestibule Redesigning the room by creating an axis between the two windows (addition of a fake door?) and thus creating a center capable of receiving a chandelier. Hiding the doors to the kitchen with sliding panels (automatic ?) The inside shutters could be replaced by a composition of two-colored stained-glass back lit windows (maybe made by New York artists?) I also suggest to have a central adjustable table built a square base that can be adjusted into a formal table for receptions and dinners. Chairs shall be designed accordingly. This room should therefore regain its multipurpose usage enriched by a great quality in the design and details with possibly some bronze additions. By its sobriety, this room will be perfect to receive various art works, paintings or pictures which will evolve with time. EFTA00652901
