It was clear she isn't at all familiar with WWII history, the history of Holland, Dutch resistance, other, very similar Dutch movies, nor with the simple parameters of a story. I'll send her a treatment in the next week and she can decide what she wants. I really want to do the project but there was something in our conversation that suggested she would be less in service of the best story than in maintaining her own highly idealised and not particularly compelling ideas about her family. I know you didn't read her short story (it's unreadable!!)but in it she tells the story of her grandmother who evidently helped to hide a few Jewish babies during the war. Anyway, do you think I ought to give it a go, or do you think she will prove to be as difficult to work with as I suspect?
