It was the first of a number of visits he will make to the UK. EFTA00659082 Of particular note was the meeting he had with Liam Maxwell, the National Technology Adviser, yesterday afternoon. The outcome agreed with Liam was for him to help set up a few pilots with local authorities (who are responsible for policing, fire, ambulances). Interestingly, Liam thought the way to get traction was to focus on the cost savings (by helping to triage more efficiently the nuisance calls) as all local authorities are constantly strapped for cash and these are a significant cost pressure. Will be interesting to see how this progresses. It struck me again the idea that you suggested that setting up regional holding companies might make a lot more sense for Reporty given that every region has different ways of providing emergency services, and hence business models will likely vary considerably.
