Be inspired by a global community of citizen scientists collaborating on open-source
air quality sensors, a cinematic love letter to the night sounds of New Orleans, and a
photographic tribute to the iconic afro hairstyle.
.,Air Quality Egg
A breath of fresh air
Air Quality Egg is an open-source sensory
system that lets people collect and share high-
resolution data on their local air quality.
Affordable, universally accessible, and easy to
assemble at home, the device will enable
anybody, anywhere to participate directly in a
global conversation about something we all
have in common: the air we breathe.

Tchoupitoulas tells the story of three young
brothers from New Orleans who spend a
runaway night in the French Quarter, where
their eyes are opened to a magical new world
of people and music. From burlesque dancers
to brass bands to street musicians, the sounds
tucked behind every comer are sure to woo
you, as well. It's as much a tale of personal
awakening as it is a love letter to the culture
and history of this famously musical city.

Making "hairstory"
Five years ago, photographer Michael July set
out across America to capture the wide variety
of creative individuals who choose to wear
their hair au natural. He captured 240 subjects
from virtually every origin, country, and age
group, as well as their personal (often
touching) stories. He calls his finished
collection the "crème de la crème of afros" — a
pictorial celebration of natural hair icons past
and the spirit of the 'do as it stands today.
