Subject: FW: Friends announcement otThe Penrose Institute. Please don't publicise till Tuesday PM!
If some of you have been wondering where I went and why I have been so quiet recently this is what I have been doing,
Founding a new Institute. It will be announced at the Sir Roger Penrose lecture at the Royal Institution on Tuesday night
next week (ii"). There are still some tickets left. Nothing is public yet but the website is finished. You can even donate,

Here is the press announcement. It will be on the BBC and in the papers on Tuesday AM.
Sir Roger Penrose and I are to announce an Institute for the Study of Consciousness, Creativity, and the Physics of the
Universe. There will be an announcement at his book talk at the Royal Institution, London on Tuesday the 14th March.
The Penrose Institute is to look into the difference between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, the interplay
between quantum mechanics and general relativity and developments in quantum biology that might be applicable to
the brain. It will be experimentally based and hopes to spur innovations in biotech, computation and sensor technology.
Roger or I would be available for interview prior to the formal announcement on Tuesday evening.
