The total gift also included jewelry etc (at retail value) which was included with the cash and reported on the gift tax return. My cover letter would explain. I think the best approach is just send her a copy of only the relevant pages with my cover letter....this should shut down her audit of this particular issue. Her official audit manual most likely requires her to obtain copy of donor gift tax return...conclusive proof.
