Dear friends,
I hope this note finds you happy and well and enjoying your weekend. I am starting the second phase of
my community service project it's some thing that runs deep in my families roots, helping those less
fortunate. While I personally have prepared food for the homeless many times, raising 18k (with the help
of my brother and sister) for the devastation in Haiti or trading in a birthday party and all the fan fare to
instead invite the entire grade from school to a day of service. While doing these wonderful projects I
learned so much I have decided to take on a challenge I hope you all can help me with. It's a simple
request instead of throwing away your tennis racquet's I am asking you to donate them to me. You are
wondering what I am going to do with your old used racquet's? I have been collecting racquets for inner
city children, children who would never have the opportunity afforded to me. I am working with jtcc (a
501c3)where I played last summer, I played with some of the best kids in the country some who you will
see in the coming years at the 4 major tournaments in the world. These children have been the recipient of
jtcc wonderful outreach. Last summer's experience motivated me to choose my project. We will start a
tennis tournament that I will organize and run this summer, you will be hearing more about that in the
coming months.
All I ask is when your cleaning out your closet(my mom said I was helping her to spring clean) if you
could put aside your old racquet's, if your a student at Columbia prep you can drop them off at the school
where I will be leaving a box in the lobby of the high school. If you don't go to Columbia I ask if you can
drop them to my home at 340 east 72nd street, or I can pick them up from your home if you reply to this
email. The kids I met last summer and the new ones I will donate these racquet's to will be forever
grateful.
I promise to send you pictures through out my journey.
Thanking you in advance for your generosity.
