It shows the recent bulldozing, road work, and bush clearing around the previously untouched 18th/19th century ruins on Great St. James. I called SHPO and reported this activity about six months ago after a concerned citizen(Peter Schultz of NextGen)notified me that there was heavy equipment working near these ruins. It seems to me that the un-monitored scraping off of the ground around this documented (there is a CRS on file with SHPO) historic site must be a violation of the Antiquities Act. Was there a permit issued for this work? My understanding is the Great St. James has recently been purchased by the same person who owns little St. James.
