He said this goes in as a letter to the committee and must include a drawing showing the type and location of the proposed mooring bouy, as well as the nature of the benthic area affected...ie, the seabed there...as well as the proposed method of installation (which will depend on the type of material there. Some can be put in place by a scuba diver, according to him, but they need to see what type of bottom is involved. He implied that the approval process was not too demanding and said nothing about any moratorium on moorings. Do you have someone to do the drawing and give you the required info on the site? By the way, I have not heard anything in some time now from your folks working on the permitting for the new work at LSJ. I am writing to follow up on the request I made a couple of weeks ago for you to look into the possibility of placing a mooring buoy in the cove at LSJ. I have been told that there may be some kind of moratorium on permits for such things because of LSJ being in a conservation area, but that is just hearsay. Would like to know the rules, and the process to make it happen. If it is possible would like to start the process asap. Please let me know. Thanks.
