On Monday, August 3, 2009, Investigator Paul Lavery completed inquiry
concerning
at one of her former places of employment, the

The manager(s) are Brett Anderson and
Kimberly Byron and the effort on this date was in follow up to previous efforts to
meet with either manager in person, but both had been out on vacation. Byron it
was learned is still out and will not return to work until mid August 2009.
Investigator Lavery had previously spoken with assistant management and a few
employees but they did not know
On this date (8-3-09) Brett Anderson was there and upon introduction Anderson
immediately recognized the photograph of
, although he could not
remember her name until Lavery mentioned it. Anderson was queried and he has
no real knowledge of
other than recalling that she worked there as a
hostess or waitress. He was questioned concerning any knowledge of
personal life style, or friends and especially any knowledge of matters relating to
this case and he said he does not know her. Anderson deferred the inquiry to
Byron (when she returns to work) stating Byron actually hired
and to his
recollection
was a good worker not a problematic type employee and he
does not know anything of
activities or character outside of work.
There was an employee there on this date (8-3-09), Kelly Smith, cell telephone
number
and she was brought forward by Anderson and Lavery was
told she had worked with
. Accordingly, Smith took a few minutes from

work to interview and it was learned she knew
in high school, but upon
being questioned Kelly stated she never heard anything about the matter of
young girls involved with Epstein (name not mentioned) when she was in school
or since then. Smith has not seen
in a few yeas and has no knowledge of
the case or anyone involved with it. She was asked about
overall
character and questioned concerning issues of interest in this investigation and
Smith said
was a "nice girl, very positive about things and a good person".
Smith stated she had no knowledge of
use or abuse (if any) of alcohol or
drugs and to her knowledge
did not use drugs. Smith said she recalled
that
dated
in school and to her knowledge
had moved
away and the last she heard was getting married. Smith has not had contact with
or spoken with
in approximately a year or more.
Smith had to return to the floor and work but upon being queried suggested
Investigator Lavery contact
whom Smith said was at one
time a very close friend of
when they attended school. Smith stated she
lost track of
after high school and as of this writing Investigator Lavery is
researching to locate and interview
Based on this somewhat brief interview with Kelly Smith there is no apparent
need to inquire further with her. Smith's opinion of
is that
was an
honest, trustworthy and basically a good person character wise. Smith has no
realistic knowledge or opinion of the various issues raised in this instant case and
no knowledge of the overall criminal investigation that preceded it.
