I am the spouse of L. Pearce Williams and have been married to him for over fifty years. I have known Mr. Seckel very well since the 1970s, when Al Seckel was a very close student and friend of my husband Cornell professor L. Pearce Williams. Pearce has always spoken extremely highly of Al Seckel as both a person and in terms of Al's scholarship. It is absolutely not true that Al Seckel has ever tried to defraud either me or any member of my family. For anyone to represent such a thing is bearing false witness. In fact, both my husband and I have both maintained extremely cordial relations with Mr. Seckel through to the present day, and when he comes to Ithaca, he is always welcome as a guest who stays with us at our home.
