We will launch the site officially on Oct 1 at the Cooper-Hewitt Why Design Now? conference so we're still in a bit of a stealth mode for a couple more weeks while we work out the kinks (kindly hold off on sharing the site until then). Thank you to everyone who gave us feedback on the site, partnered with us (20 amazing Academic Partners around the world so far! ... visualizing.org/partners), took the time to upload their work, or just shared their thoughts with us on the project. It's been invaluable and the site is so much better because of you. Over the next two weeks we'll be adding more content (we'll be publishing original content -- with some special guest bloggers -- 3x a week), more visualizations (and making the upload process even easier), more partners, more data sets, and making some finishing touches to several pages that are not yet done. But you can get a feel for it now and we'd appreciate any more feedback (and if you find any overlooked typos or broken links please let us know!!). We're also hard at work on the first Visualizing Marathon -- a student design competition that will be held the weekend of Oct 22 at Eyebeam. Stay tuned for more details! If Visualizing= is completely new to you -- in brief, our mission is to help make data visualization figure more prominently across the web as a way of understanding complex world issues as they unfold.
