He has been trying to work out a deal with Carlos, the engineer involved, to purcahse the property and for Mike to make money secretly on the back-end without the bank knowing. When he suggested the idea a while back I said I would not stand for anything illegal or even shady. I told him if Carlos and Abel were involved in a purchase/build deal, I would alert the bank that fraud may be occurring. This is why he hasn't listed it. He is trying to figure a way for him to be involved silently in a deal. I knew this is still the plan when he asked if Abel can be involved. Recall Abel is the friend who came to me with the original deal. He was to be the builder, but turns out he has no contractors license--he was using the GC of an employee of Carlos, the civil engineer. Something shady is going on and I want no part of it. Call your friend in real estate and ask if he wants to list it, or for the names of several realtors who might. I will call and get a contract on it. Mike does not want that because he does not want to lose the chance to do a slight-of-hand trick to make money behind the bank's back.
