Just a brief update... After some interesting discussions with them, we added Juergen Schmidhuber, Stan Franklin and Joscha Bach to the proposal as part-time advisors.... FYI Juergen is the leader of one of the top-ten AI departments in the world http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%CMCrgen_Schmidhuber http://www.idsia.ch/ and Stan is also quite well respected in the AI field. Juergen is involved with this project http://im-clever.noze.it/ which is somewhat similar to our proposed CogBot project, but doesn't use any symbolic-AI methods, only neural-net type methods (which in my view makes it a lot less likely to succeed, but Juergen's intuition is a little different...). If you're curious to chat with one or more of these three advisors about the proposal, I could put you in touch to set up a phone call... Anyway I have just now sent out the proposal to a few US AI profs at top-name universities, and I'll forward you their reviews when I obtain them. I suspect they may take a little while to respond as reading a complex proposal carefully takes a while, and the holidays are nearing. (I wish I'd gotten the proposal out to them sooner, but I'm glad we went through a more careful process because I think it made the proposal much stronger as a document, though it didn't affect the underlying ideas...) DOJ-released document from Data Set 9 containing the draft research and development proposal prepared by AI researchers Ben Goertzel and Itamar Arel for the Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation.
