Original Message From: Noam Sobel ‹ > Sent: Thursday, October 29, 2009 10:58 AM To: Subject: nose power (no hands) Hello Melanie When you sent me an email, there were indeed various projects around lab that are, i hope, scientifically interesting, but nothing that would meet your modest criteria of "something to change the world". That may have changed over the past two months or so. We developed a low-tech low-cost device that allows completely locked-in (LIS) individuals to communicate and control a computer, and allows paralyzed people to drive wheel chairs, and all this through the nose. Attached for your amusement is a home video we made yesterday. Note that this is not "data" (the first "slalom" section is accelerated by about 15%), but it does give you an idea. So, do you want to visit Israel? I can probably give a good tour. Maybe lets talk by phone. You can call me at work: or on my cell Or suggest a number where i can call you Sincerely, noam Professor Noam Sobel Department of Neurobiology Weizmann Institute of Science email: web: www.welzmann.ac.il/neurobiology/worg EFTA00767939
