FYI, I put together the first "pre-alpha" version of my AI book during the last week. By which I mean, I assembled all the fragments of the book in the right order, which allowed me to produce a first-draft Table of Contents, which is long and is here if you're curious: http://goertzel.org/TOC.pdf The text of the book is 90% there -- but it all needs VERY heavy editing which will take several months. (And of course writing the other 10% will still be some work, even though the ideas are already solid.) Many parts of the manuscript are still raw text pasted from published or unpublished papers, or the opencog.org wiki site, and it all needs to be book- ified. Which is mostly a matter of tedious editing/rewriting work, but will also require filling in various small conceptual gaps along the way... Anyway, thanks again for making it possible for me to work on this now, instead of serving our nation in some useless government job ;-p .. ben .. p.s. BTW, Itamar and Cassio and I have been refining a proposal on our combined AI project, which should be ready in a week or so, and which we'll then circulate to some folks in the AI community in quest of supporters. We're being a bit painstaking about formulating the proposal, because it's not like we can go to these same guys again and again with revised/improved proposals...
