Here is my first pass at questions you asked me to prepare
1 If the universe is physical and consciousness isn't, how did atoms and molecules learn to think??
2 Do objects exist independent of our experience? if so, how would we know?
3 Thoughts are typically verbal. How do neurons produce language out of electrical and chemical reactions?
4 The brain's interior is totally silent. How does brain tissue produce sounds of every variety?
5 Photons are invisible, and the brain's interior is pitch black. So how do neurons produce the brightness and
color of light?
6. There are no detailed pictures in the visual cortex, no movies, no color photographs. So how does brain tissue
create the three-dimensional world?
5 Science frequently starts with a thought experiment . How does a brain create a thought to begin with?
6. The electrical signals and chemical reactions in the brain take place totally in the present moment. How then
does the brian refer to the past and future?
7 What is the fundamental source of mathematics? If math transcends physicality, do its abstract properties like
order, harmony, balance, even beauty exist beyond physicality?
8 Can any cause be ascribed to the Big Bang ?How do we verify such a cause?
9 If the precreated state beyond the empirical reality is timeless and dimensionless--or on the other hand filled
with multiple dimensions and versions of time--how can we investigate such a domain using the human brain,
which is dependent on linear time and three dimensions?
10 Can math / science explain curiosity, insight, imagination and wonder ?
11 Is reality itself subject to being modeled? How can any model comprehend our inner reality? If inner reality
is excluded, does this weaken models of the physical universe?
12 The chemical reactions and electrical signals inside the brain obey the same laws that apply to chemistry and
electromagnetism. One law makes such reactions and signals deterministic. A chain of cause and effect can
always be followed and calculated. If this is true, how do original thoughts and voluntary actions occur? Clearly
they cannot be explained away as products of predetermined actions.
13 Do you have a theory of how consciousness came into existence?
14 Does a physicalist view of the mind truly explain the mind of Shakespeare, Newton, and Mozart Einstein ?
What mechanical model can explain any individual mind?
15 The self or "I" has never been located in the brain. Where and what is the self?
16 Is matter material ?
17 Where do possibility waves that collapse into particles exist ?
18 Is a physics model of everything possible or only of the four fundamental forces? If the latter, how do the four
forces link to the world of personal experience?
19 Many physicists have considered the behavior of subatomic particles mind-like, in that they seem to make
decision or choice. What explains this?
20 Darwinian theory has been successful at showing how life evolved after it began. But what explains the origin
of life?
21 Some physicists consider the universe suspiciously set up to lead to life on Earth. Are we accidental creations
of random particles in collision or is there another way to explain why this particular universe is so well suited to
human evolution on Earth?
22 We pride ourselves on rational thought, but we cannot explain thought itself . Does that bother you ?
23 In everyday experience we know things that would be unknowable without the human brain. but the brain
knows zero about itself. We have no innate knowledge of how our brains work. Why is that?
24 Computers work by processing ones and zeros, but the human brain clearly doesn't. Why, then, should we
consider the brain a computer?

25 Computers cannot do anything without the input of software by humans. but our minds invent and create new
things without any software other than DNA. How does a string of nucleotides arranged in a double helix
manage the mind?
26 Many bodily functions, from cell division to sleep rhythms, from baby teeth falling out to puberty, occur on a
set timeline in our life cycle. Since DNA governs every cellular activity, how did it learn to tell time? Secondly,
how does DNA the multiple overlapping clocks found in the human body, some as short as microseconds, some
as long as months and years?
