If that's the one he has in mind, then no connection. My father came from a shtetl called "Kupil" in western Ukraine. Apart from his parents and siblings, all relatives appear to have been wiped out, by the Nazis, or the Ukrainians if they got there first. Last known "Khomski" was killed by Ukrainians in 1942. There's a journalist, Johann Hari, who's been tracking all this down, using Yad va-Shem and other records. From: jeffrey E.
