From: Richard Kahn To: "Jeffrey E." <[email protected]> Subject: Projectors for Paris Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2015 14:40:34 +0000 to be addressed on your visit to Paris Richard Kahn HBRK Associates Inc. 575 Lexington Avenue 4th Floor New York NY 10022 tel fa cel Begin forwarded message: From: James ce personal genius ,aa , Subject: Re: Projectors for Paris Date: January 30, 2015 at 9:57:19 PM EST To: Richard Kahn Both devices are dual voltage (projector is 100 - 240 VAC ± 10%, 50/60 Hz, IOGear Matrix is 100-240v - 5V DC Jack [Transmitter], 5V DC mini USB [Receiver]) so they require only plug adapters and not voltage conversion. The plug adapters are very cheap ( http://www.amazon.com/Ceptics-Europe-Asia-Adapter- Quality/dp/B0084OPT8C/ ). The projector actually uses a standard three prong plug that's in the back of every desktop PC in the world, so using the euro version of that cable would be the same as buying it in France. I can't see from the product photos what the plug for the Matrix transmitter is, but I bet it's a standard barrel that Voldson could find the euro equivalent for $5. The receiver side is a mini-USB port — the same charging port that every pre-2008 non-Apple smartphone used, so also easy to find (It's actually designed to power off the USB ports on the back of HDTVs, but the Epson doesn't have one). It looks like the technology has advanced fast since I last looked at it. Here is a good breakdown: http://m.thewirecutter.corn/reviews/the-best-wireless-hdmi-video-transmitter/ The best options are one of these systems (differences are in signal strength and the number of inputs -- the first option "Long Range Wireless 5x2 HDMI Matrix PRO" is the strongest and gives 5 separate inputs): http://www.iogear.corn/wireless-ay.htm It's listed on the French Amazon site so it should be French regulatory-compliant. I would caution against putting the transmitter (and HDMI sources) in a separate room -- the thickness of the walls are likely to degrade the signal -- but it should work well within a cabinet in the same room. <projector_spec_8391-1.pdf> Richard Kahn HBRK Associates Inc. 575 Lexington Avenue 4th Floor New York, NY 10022 tel cel please note The information contained in this communication is confidential, may be attorney-client privileged, may constitute inside information, and is intended only for the use of the addressee.
