However , before an object can be labeled a rock , it is an experience ; it is a sensation , a color, a shape , a form, a gritty taste , a smell. These are perceptual activities in consciousness / awareness, known in consciousness , labeled in consciousness and modified forms of consciousness . A rock is a modified form of consciousness . The same applies to a mountain or a galaxy or an atom . In fact atoms particles and waves are even more abstract notions for modes of subtle knowing and experience in consciousness. The same principle applies to that which we call a hand , a brain , a body , a neural correlate . They are modified forms of consciousness . The entire universe and all manifest existence is a modification of formless awareness . Awareness existence being are synonymous . Form and formlessness alternate as eternal existence . This principle applies to all human constructs , including Big Bang , cosmic and biological evolution. Manifest existence is a notion.
