The restructuring has been completed and the creditors have taken over the old bankrupt banks. The "good" assets have been hived off, and are now held by the "new" banks owned by Government, and a new Enterprise Fund, charged with optimizing the value of those assets. Iceland is one of the few countries with a fully funded Pension system, with the largest Funds sitting on $20 Bio, and the Enterprise Fund holding some choice assets including one of the world's greatest fishing fleets, a very successful Airline, and enormous reserves of renewable alternative energy( Geothermal). The Enterprise Fund has been capitalized by the Pension Funds with $2Bio in cash, which they are looking to deploy effectively.
