it would be nice to talk to you before i give my keynote.
it's on Feb 1 at 9:30am hawaii time last year a supreme court justice gave the talk (right to die and how surgeons ignore it)
the year before it was the head of the canadian medical assn (a lawyer/doctor)
the year before it was the inventor of the frameless sterotactic stuff (technology/surgery)
etc in 50 years it's never been a woman speaker i don't want to screw it up for the other women in the field
need to be articulate and credible they are inviting me be i am the only woman who has done both neurology and neurosurgery and am double (actually triple)
board certified they also think it's cool that i have never missed a question on a standardized test (sat, mcat, usmle etc) or tha=
second degree black belt or speak ridiculous languages and stupid quirky things like that
those things are embarrasssing to me and i just think they distract from any sort of real message
seems very egotistical/narcisstic and a talk that whines about being a woman and all the drama is very played out
Enot a victim
I'm super lucky in a zillion ways i've written the talk so many times. i have four possible presentations. not sure which one to go with.
my only hope is that the audience comes away inspired but not disaggregeting me into stupid bits of irrelevant stuff
in these 20+ years you've always been good at seeing through the details and helping me do what is right, important and
forward thinking.
