Jeffrey, The above quote was repeated to me by you one early morning when you came to my office in Ohio to ask if you could do anything to help me after an unfortunate loss in Federal court. This act of kindness is my greatest insight into your true character, which as a defense, you hide so well. Over the years, I have had some special relationships of friendship. Oscar Wilde said "Friendship is love without wings." In each of these relationships, whether they be a bubbe or a mensch, they, like you, wanted their goodness to be private. Anticipating your anniversary of today, I have thought a lot about the magnificent, unique person you are and I have concluded that of all my friends, you are the only one that will, in my mind, be forever young - happy birthday. Jeffrey, my birthday wish to you is that you continue to do sufficient, outrageous things to satisfy that need inside, but not so many as to diminish the good work you are doing in your foundation.
