...if a direct discussion not a good idea.
Just from your personal perspective, do you think elections will be disruptive?
And, thank you again for any advice.

Hi pumpkin...
Struggling still with some annoying treatments and hoping soon to feel physically better but the good news is that it is more
about retrofitting and less about recurrence. Whew. Sorry I've been quiet.
I'm strong and scrappy and heading out to Africa with a laundry list of orders and requests from around the foundation. Let's
see how I do.
One interesting thing is a weird new city project in Angola being built by the Chinese. They feel like they can't fix the city
(speaking of retrofitting!) of Luanda so they are building an entirely new huge city right next door. I can't wait to see it. That
is certaily the Chinese way of doing things and apparently it resonates with the Angolan leadership.
I will be in Dakar July 7-8-9. The WSH (water sanitation hygiene) team is making a big grant to the city utilities office and the
maternal health team has made (and considering a supplement) to the public health office and I'm going to speak to the
mayor about what more we might be able to do. I've got a few community group meetings and site visits for the work of the
other teams. I've got an open mind and willing to do whatever is right by the Senegalese. I'm wondering if the timing isn't
quite perfect for our teams to invest right now (or wait a few months) but I don't have the final say on that. Anyway, if your
friend would like to have coffee, lunch, dinner or just hang out for a bit I'd love to say hi. I promise to be on my best
behavior!
I miss you and hope that you are doing ok...
