Carlos went back into surgery today to continue to drain/cleanse his abdominal cavity from the sepsis infection. The doctors are considering a skin graft to temporarily cover his wound as the swelling and size of the rupture prevents closing his incision at this time. We are hoping he will move out of ICU to a regular room in a week or so, which will allow him to rest more comfortably. They are hesitant to provide a recovery timeline, however Carlos has been making steady progress. He is talking and aware, and of course has been asking about work. Hope you had a nice holiday.
