And we should be mindful of the need to do 2017 tax planning before the end of the year! The last information I saw indicated a significant federal tax liability, and a major shortfall in covering the liability. Several months ago I proposed an additional IRA distribution to have 100% of it go toward your tax liability. The purpose is to catch up, and to avoid a 4 figure underpayment liability. Can we get your consent to initiate that step? Also, the likely tax law changes that may, or may not, come to pass are still unpredictable. Most of the changes, maybe all, would not be effective until 2018, but that could change at the last minute in the negotiations among all the participants.
