I uprooted from LA at your behest and was strung along on somewhat of a fool's errand and now that i have taken up the real and tangible opportunities that are being presented to me (the film, the column and the book) you say our experiment has failed? I am not suggesting you were aware of or bear any responsibility for just the kind of goose chase this Phaidon thing was but if our experiment was one of seriousness and focus I feel there has been 'serious' progress. Perhaps you can clarify your expectations to me. Of course, I already feel a little bit like your ward, so I don't want to disappoint, but I also suspect I am your least obsequious and most rebellious ward and that may not be acceptable under the terms of our tacit deal.
