Subject: Tony's carpet is not pure silk as it states on the back

Mark Sacco was in the office today so I went to speak to him personally regarding the carpets.
As soon as he saw Tony's sample he said it is not pure silk and has synthetic in it even though it says silk on the back.
We should not use synthetic on an airplane apparently.
To test it he took some strands and burned them. Tony's carpet (1st photo) went up in flames and almost burnt his hand. It also had a strange smell. A
pure silk carpet (2nd photo) that they had just sizzled and smelled like human hair burning.
But die white sample from Tony feels softer and thicker than the blue sample from Hyland. According to Mark this is due to the fact that the white
carpet is 3 ply with a 6mm pile and the blue carpet is 2 ply with a 4mm pile.
So he is going to make up samples in the blue color using pure silk, 3 ply, 6mm pile using both hand tufting and pass tufting techniques so that you
can compare. (He will also making a sample of the original hyland carpet) lie says he is not going to make a sample like Tony's with synthetic fibres
as he would never sell you a synthetic carpet for the airplane.
