Date: Wed, 18 Dec 2013 19:16:24 +0000 Inline-Images: image001.png Everybody loved dinosaurs when they were little, but some of us never outgrew it (well, yet anyway). Besides liking dinosaurs a lot (I have a T rex skeleton in my living mom), I also study dinosaurs seriously enough to write scientific papers on them from time to time. After three years of effort on of my papers has just come out and it has made quite a splash. My latest is a long technical article on the statistical issues in dinosaur growth rates. Now, I will readily admit that this isn't quite as broadly appealing as my cookbooks. Nor is it as cool as the things some of my friends do — like go into space, build rocket ships and so forth, but hey, I do what I canl Here is the write up in NYT and Economist http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/17/science/earth/outsider-challenges-papers-on-growth-of-dinosaurs.html? r=0 http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/12/17/science/earth/1217-dinosauchtml?ref=science http://www.economist.com/news/science-and-technology/21591837-enthusiastic-amateur-suggests-work-how- dinosaurs-grew-wrong-bone Here is the paper itself in PLOS One http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0081917 Nathan Myhrvold Founder, CEO E — rin www.intellectualventures.com THIS MESSAGE MAY CONTAIN CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION WHICH MAY ALSO BE LEGALLY PRIVILEGED INFORMATION.
