As discussed on site, the problem with the emergency generator #2 is with the exciter coil and the companion diode plate. When we had the failure of #2 during the rehab of #1 the rear end was taken off #1 and quickly refurbished to get it installed on the failed unit so as to have back up power. Due to the emergency time line a complete disassembly of the #1 rear end did not happen. This would have added a week or more to the timeline of getting back on line. Unfortunately that gamble did not pay off as we now are forced to do exactly the work that was skipped over in the name of expediency due to the fact of a failure within the diode plate itself which requires a complete disassembly of the rear end to repair. This will need to take place off of LSJ at a repair facility. Work can begin immediately on the original failed rear end as it is currently at the repair facility. A quote of 15,000.00 has been provided and will include a warranty on the repairs to be made. Omega is the company providing the quote and has said a deposit of $8,000.00 is required prior to starting. I will forward the formal quote and company information shortly.
