Subject: Re: Brian Greene on We could be a simulation
No Michael
I do not agree with Brian that we are simulation . Let me summarize the monistic consciousness worldview .
I Whenever we use the word " we " or " I " - it is consciousness that is being referred to .
2 Mind / Body/Universe are experiences in consciousness.
3 Consciousness is that in which all experience occurs , all experience is known , and out of which all
experience is made . It is the knowing element in every experience .
4 Fundamental experience is in the form of sensations images feelings thoughts perceptions.
5 Experiences are modifications of consciousness- thoughts and perceptions are modified forms of
consciousness,
6 You cannot separate an object from the perception of it .
7 Consciousness is non local and therefore formless , timeless spaceless.
EFTA01058046
8 Humans are a species of consciousness that have created models out of basic experiences or qualia (
sensations images feelings thoughts perceptions)
9 Mind / Body / Universe are human constructs, conceptualized in consciousness. In that sense the world we
experience is our simulation ( hence You Are The ( Human ) Universe .
10 Consciousness is personal, interpersonal, collective, transpersonal, trans species ( you share awareness with
your dog, cat etc without a clue as to their actual perceptual experience ) collective and universal. ( universal
does not mean extending in endless directions of space time but just formless and not in space time )
11 All sentient beings ( species ) are extensions of one consciousness and are conditioned aspects of pure
consciousness.
12 Consciousness cannot be visualized or perceived but modifies itself into images thoughts perceptions etc .
13 Our fundamental Being is consciousness/ awareness
Descartes was incorrect when he said " I think therefore I am "
It's the other way around " I am therefore I think " . Before a thought arises there is awareness . So too before
images or perceptions arise there is awareness .
14 Awareness/ consciousness is the common ground of all experience. Awareness is One , perceptions are
innumerable .
15 The objectification of experience creates the " simulation " of an external world ® that includes the
Body/Mind experience.
16 The real You is not the Body / Mind/Universe ( they go together ) but the formless being who experiences
Body/ Mind/ Universe as an intermittent stream of sensations images feelings thoughts perceptions.
17 By objectifying experience we created an external world , learned to quantify it , measure it , tabulate it ,
create phyla etc - all human constructs around raw experience.
18 There is no hard problem of consciousness if that's your ontological primitive. All there is - is consciousness
and its modifications as experience.
19 Laws of Nature are regularities of experience .
20 God as conceptualized by religions is also a human construct- just like the Big Bang !
21.Science cannot explain experience ( hard problem ) including the experience of doing science .
22 Science is the greatest adventure that consciousness has undertaken but because it is based on subject /
object split it can be used for our destruction- nuclear weapons , climate change, extinction of species , eco
destruction etc
23 A science within consciousness would be holistic and create more humility as well.
24 The goal of existence is to know who we are - the awareness of existence -
25 This understanding and experience could lead to a more peaceful just sustainable healthier and happier
world .
I'm in NYC Jan6 thru 10 and off and on in Feb . I may be here in June . There is a Science of Consciousness
conference in Shanghai in late June
If dates work I would love to see you guys ( Leonard please note ) in NYC and take you out for dinner etc
Happy New Year ft;

But Deepak, you don't agree with Greene that we might be living in a simulation as he describes it, do you?
Or would a different type of simulation be something along the lines of what you propose in You Are the
Universe? (A universal consciousness would be a type of simulation?)
I might be in New York June 1-4 for the Science Festival so Jennifer and Vinnie and I can come visit if you're
in town.
