MILLER KORZENIK SOMMERS RAYMAN LLP 488 MADISON AVENUE NEW YORK NEW YORK 1 -5702 fax: 212 688-3996 May 5, 2016 Martin G. Weinberg, Esq. 20 Park Plaza, Suite 1000 Boston, MA 02116 Re: Jeffrey Epstein Dear Mr. Weinberg: Thank you for your letter of May 3, 2016. After receiving your letter, I checked with the Hachette Book Group and can confirm that your December 3, 2015 letter was not received by it. I am advised that Mr. Patterson and Mr. Connolly are disappointed that Mr. Epstein has not accepted their request for an interview and the opportunity to present his views and account of matters for their book. As noted in my May 2 letter, the invitation remains open, but if we do not hear from you or Mr. Epstein by Monday, May 9, 2016, the authors will take that as a rejection of Mr. Patterson's interview request. Consistent with prevailing journalistic and editorial standards and practices, the authors respectfully decline to provide you with a pre- publication copy of the manuscript. Thank you for your attention to this matter. cc: Reid Weingarten, Esq. EFTA01110963
