The appointment of Dr. Jim Kim has brought several additional dimensions and areas of interest to the World Bank; meanwhile the Gates Foundation's re-design has ushered in a new era of reprioritization, focus and introspection. The secondement would allow for a more consistent and bidirectional flow of information between the Foundation's Global Pro ams, the leadership teams of the World Bank and World Bank Institute. will maintain a small number of EFTA01145539 responsibilities at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation requiring several hours of virtual presence on a monthly basis and in-person presence on a quarterly basis, when able. These demands are flexible and to be arranged with her managers. No conflict of interest is perceived. Initially the key areas of focus for exchange and collaboration are identified below; these are expected to evolve during the period of the Secondment reflecting institutional priorities: World Bank Challenge on Eradication of extreme poverty Strategy formulation and implementation of Knowledge Solutions and the Science of Delivery in WBI knowledge work Open Knowledge and data and Mapping for Development on Urban Development, Climate Change and Health Service Delivery Vertical Integration of Sectoral capacity development work with the Collaborative Governance and Innovative Solutions Clusters. Help Develop Gender — Agency and Voice under WBI Open Knowledge and Collaborative Governance clusters. Two other areas (gender and science & technology) relate to individual foundation co- chair interests and will be integrated into the work plan as appropriate. Key Duties and Accountabilities: Develop and Integrate the Science of Delivery into WBITL work Contribute to WBI Urban Sector Regional work (Africa and South Asia on urban capacity development Assist with Development Market Place ideas generation Contribute to WBI informal economy learning Contribute to WB strategy development as appropriate Offer strategic guidance and input to WBITL teams integrating lessons from Gates Foundation work Site visits as required for research and/or knowledge management/capacity development workshops Strategic Inputs to the WBI team as needed Inputs to Senior Management as needed Knowledge sharing with Gates Foundation health. Her selection is based on her vast experience in development work over the last years especially working with non-traditional stakeholders such as CSOs and community based organizations and more specifically on: I.
