In addition i have reviewed my files, again contrary to what he has represented there is NO letter showing 67 hours for 09. . certainly no backup, to that number . , As he is your friend you have decided to accept his hours , no matter what the corresponding e mail traffic illlustrates. I have asked for back up for months now for dec o6 , and never received any , not one scrap of paper , why? as there are only 14 e mails for the month. your projections in nov 06 , said that alan was ill, and then leaving for europe , so i expected a small bill. He has not provided me with one piece of useful backup. the three pages I sent you of a small book with illegible scribbles. was the only pages , again contrary to his representation we have received to date as a detailed backup. I checked and again contrary to what you told me he said , we only received these three pages . That being said , no one in the office can make heads nor tails of it. It did not even come with a summary or explanation. Every other attny provided detailed bills usually the next day upon request, items and issues discussed, matters handled ,time spent. With the proposition that it would be unethical to reduce his fees because a criminal matter should not be contingent, I point out that the others merely adjusted their billed hours , no one had a contingency EFTA01154183 agreement of any type, and if you like I can check with the ethics committee of the bar on a no names basis, if it is proper for a criminal lawyer to adjust his bill.. You are simply being asked to accept his number of hours because you are friends,not because of requested documentation for over three million dollars. my job as your accountant is to verify bills. You can readly see that Florida alone , only two days. was already a thirty thousand dollar Dershowitz mistake . I realize that you are made to feel as you are questioning his integrity by asking him to provide what others have done and with little squabble. That is your perogative. He has referenced " my numbers" , however I only have what he has given me, and it is far in excess of every other bill.
