Among his seminal works is the description of various neurodegenerative disorders and their associated biochemical and anatomical features, in particular Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. Pr. Yves Agid is a co-founder and the Scientific Strategy Consultant of the "Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle epiniere" — ICM (Brain and Spine Institute), an international brain and spinal cord research center which is being launched in Paris.
