;;,This Week on Kickstarter
AUGUST 09, 2012
This week you can go medieval with some modern video games, take a giant robot
for a ride, or find some unexpected value in a roll of (seemingly) everyday coins.
;:',Ukiyo-e Heroes
Modern heroes
Jed Henry is a self-proclaimed nerd who loves
illustration, video games, and Japanese
culture. Ukiyo-e Heroes combines all three. For
it, he'll reimagine 12 contemporary video game
characters in traditional ukiyo-e style, down to
the medieval dress and ancient settings, then
have them hand-carved onto woodblock prints
using the same techniques once perfected in
ancient Japan.

My other car has six legs
Stompy is an 18-foot-wide, 4,000 pound, 6-
legged hydraulic robot that you can ride.
Conceptualized by a small team of
professional roboticists and their students, the
massive hexapod will be completely open-
source, from the CAD drawings all the way
down to control techniques, meaning tot
enthusiasts the world over can someday build
one of their very own. Fasten your seat belts!
The robot revolution is here.

One to grow on
Seed Money looks like the real thing —
pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters — but
tuck them into the soil for an unexpected
surprise. Each seed-filled paper coin will
blossom into a patch of flowers or vegetables
perfect for gathering, eating, or just bringing a
smile to somebody's face. You can grow a
whole backyard with a single roll, but it only
takes a penny to bring a flower or two to your
local park.
