Sean A. D. Francis St. Thomas, USVI, 00804 September 8, 2014: Southern Trust Company, Inc. St. Thomas, USVI, 00802 To Ms. Cecille DeJongh, I found out about this company while scouting around St. Thomas' official EDC listing and I am sending out my resume to apply to any potential positions. I have a B.S in Applied Physics from the Columbia Engineering School. Over the past year, I've worked in the Research Engineering Lab at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center on multiple projects with different technologies and tools. This has prompted me to learn quickly about fields that I was not familiar with previously. Through these experiences, I learned to identify what I need to know to work on the projects and be able to quickly get the tools I need to do the job, whether writing a MATLAB camera driver in C++ or programming a motor controller board for automated raster scanning for spectral imaging. I also have software development experience writing Perl scripts for web scraping when I was an intern at Enigma Technologies Inc. Currently, I am interested in getting into the field of Data Mining as it would allow me to take advantage of my quantitative background as well as hone my programming skills. I hope that you will find my resume worth your time and interest and I appreciate you taking the time to consider my application. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Sean A. D.
