GuardiCore develops network security solutions, targeting attackers' kill-chain in virtualized data
centers, and scalable to multi-terabit traffic rates. It is now starting beta trials of it's first product,
an Active Honeypot, on OpenStack environments.
GuardiCore is interested in proposing relevant major US-based players to evaluate the Active
Honeypot and become design partners. Here is a quick description of the product:
The Active Honeypot is designed to detect and mitigate Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs),
malware propagation and insider attacks inside the data center.
It provides deep insights into blocked and failed connection attempts, detecting attempts to gain
control over a virtual machine, and creates a detailed report about the attack attempt, including
attack methods and techniques, compromised credentials and malware files. The investigation
is carried out in real time, and enables timely response and attack mitigation at an early stage.
The idea behind the product is that an attack inside a data center typically starts with active
network mapping. At this stage, the attacker tries to connect and gain control over other servers
in the data center. Since the attacker typically does not know the full security policy, network
topology and server configuration in the data center, he generates blocked and failed connection
attempts, which are used by the Active Honeypot.
